Ashraf appointed as Indian Ambassador to Singapore
Jawed Ashraf, Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer of 1991 batch has been appointed as next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Singapore.
 
The officer is currently working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
 
As Joint Secretary to the Prime Minister, Ashraf has served to both Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi since 2012. 
 
His other postings include work related to to External Affairs, Space, Atomic Energy, Overseas Indian Affairs, Defence, NTRO and monitoring of PM’s visit abroad, among others.
 
The officer is expected to assume his duty shortly.
