HS Arora becomes Director General Air, Operations
Air Marshal Harjit Singh Arora who joined Indian Air Force (IAF) as a fighter pilot in December 1981, has become Director General Air, Operations. 
 
 
The officer has more than 2600 hours of experience of flying MIG 21, MIG 29 and other aircrafts. 
 
 
Some of his achievements are:-
 
 
1. He has served as Directing Staff at ‘Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment’ (TACDE) and as a Flying Inspector in the ‘Directorate of Air Staff Inspection’ (DASI). He was deputed as Defence Attache in the Embassy of India, Bankok, Thiland from 2006 to 2009.
 
2. As Wing Commander, he commanded 45 Squadron, ‘The Flying Dagger’. 
 
3. Recognizing his marvelous work in Air Force, he was awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal (AVSM) on 26 Jan 2011 by the President of India.
