Uttar Pradesh has got new Chief Secretary in the face of senior IAS officer Deepak Singhal, 1982 batch IAS officer.
The officer was working as Principal Secretary of Irrigation prior this.
The officer assumed his duty as Chief Secretary on Wednesday evening close to Shivpal Singh Yadav, Minister of Public Works Department of the state.
Interestingly, the officer is the third officer that has been appointed as Chief Secretary under Samajwadi Party's (SP) rule. The other two officers that were on the post are Alok Ranjan, who retired on June 30 and 1978 batch officer Javed Usmani.
When Alok retired, Agriculture Production Commissioner Praveer Kumar acted as Chief Secretary.
