Ramesh Chandra to be Indian Ambassador to Romania
Ministry of External Affairs has appointed Dr AVS Ramesh Chandra, IFS officer, as the Ambassador of India to Romania. 
 
Ramesh Chandra is 1989 batch IFS officer and is presently appointed as the High Commissioner of India to Uganda. 
 
He is appointed in place of M Manimekalai, who is an IFS officer of 1981 batch and is presently the Indian Ambassador to Romania. 
 
Ramesh Chandra owns a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science majoring in Dairy Technology from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU), Hyderabad and is a gold medalist. 
 
In March 2009-10, he was Joint Secretary/Deputy Director General in  Indian Council of World Affairs in Ministry of External Affairs.
