Arround 206 under secretaries to be reshuffled
Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has prepared a tentative list of 206 Under Secretaries due for rotational transfers, sources claimed

These officers are expected to complete the prescribed tenure of six years on July 1, 2016. “However, the number of officers due to rotational transfer in Group A and Group B are not equal. The number of officers in Group A is 115, whereas there are only 91 officers in Group B,” a DoPT memorandum stated.

To resolve the issue, in the first phase officers equal in number in the order of tenure served in both the Groups A and B will be considered for transfer.

As per Rotational Transfer Policy (RTP), Under Secretaries who have completed six years or more in the same Ministry or Department are eligible for transfer.

The officers serving in certain Ministriesor Departments have a reduced tenure by one year prescribed for the grade.

The RTP also provides that rotational transfer in Under Secretary grade is to be carried out by July 15 of the year and the cut-off date for counting the tenure is July 1 of the year.
