All chief justices and judges to assume their duties before May 23, as the president has directed

In replacement of Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta, Justice Tinlianthang Vaiphei of the Guwahati High Court will be seen as the new acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, while Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta has been transferred to Chhattisgarh as the chief justice of Chhattisgarh High Court.
 
 
Justice Vaipehi, 60, will be joining court on May 16
 
 
As Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta has become chief justice of Chhattisgarh, Navin Sinha, who was earlier the chief justice of Chhattisgarh has been appointed as the chief justice of Rajasthan high Court.
 
 
Earlier the states of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya were under the jurisdiction of Guwahati High Court but separate high courts were set up in the states in 2013.
 
 
In addition to these transfers, Justice Ved Prakash vaish of Delhi High Court has been appointed as Chief Justice of Meghalaya and Justice Satish kumar Agnihotri of Madras High Court has been shifted to Sikkim.
 
 
All the transferred chief justices and judges are expected to take their charges before May 23 as per the president’s direction.
