India International Tea Convention (IITC 2016) that is the seventh edition of the event ‘let's team up for sustainability’ is going to be held between September 22 and September 24 at Ooty.
As per United Planters Association of Southern India (UPSAI) President N Dharmaraj informed that the event which will take place in a plantation area for the first time will be attended by 600 delegates including 100 overseas delegates and will also be a venue for an industrial exhibition.
The event will be hosted together by UPSAI, Tea Board and the Consultative Committee of Plantation Associations, Indian Tea Exporters' Association (ITEA), the South India Tea Exporters Association (SITEA) and Federation of All India Tea Traders Association (FAITTA).
The event will focus on sustainability and product safety issues. In addition to that, sessions on export and domestic markets and climate change on future tea production will also be organized.
Interestingly, participants will be introduced to various tea planting regions in north as well as south India.
