Sugar mills won’t be able to hold more than limit

In order to keep prices under check even when the demand rises, the government has planned to impose a limit to the amount of sugar that mills can hold at the end of September and October.

Related to this, Minister Ram Vilas Paswan also tweeted that it has been decided to impose stock limit on sugar stock to be held by sugar mills at the end of September 2016 and October 2016.

Government has decided to set the limit at 37 per cent of the total sugar for September which is same as last year and for October it will be 24 per cent.

Interestingly, India did the same thing in April as droughts reduced the production of sugar.
